13 Quotes About Self-Worth

I was thinking recently about how much self-hatred I have towards myself and how I can understand when someone doesn't like me. I know we all have flaws and not everyone will love us but it is so important to fill up our minds with positivity and love. You wouldn't tell a baby/kid they are ugly, undeserving of love, or can't reach their dreams would you? So why tell yourself that? That is a question I have been battling with and I think being gentle with myself is something that is a work in progress. Society fills us up with all these lies that are sometimes so easy to believe. The most important thing at the end of the day is to remember that in Christ my worth is found and it does not come from any person. I heard this quote once from a youtube video by Jeff and Alyssa Bethke and it says, "If you live for someones praise, you die by their rejection." With that being said here are some more quotes about self-worth and I hope these quotes leave you feeling inspired.

1. "It's easy to remember only the good parts of people if you never see them. Real people are much more complicated." - Cynthia Lord

2. " It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not."

3. "You're imperfect, and you're wired for struggle, but YOU ARE WORTHY of love and belonging." - Brene Brown

4. "The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you're not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don't take it personally when they say 'no' - they may not be smart enough to say 'yes'." - Keith Olbermann

5. "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." - 1 Peter 3:3-4

6. "We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope." - Tim Keller

7. "Surround yourself with people who know your worth. You do not need too many people to make you happy, just a few real ones who appreciate you for exactly who you are."

8. "Failure is an event, not a person. Your mistakes do not define you." - Nicky Gumbel

9. "I have no control over what people think of me but I have 100% control of what I think of myself." - Beth Ditto

10. "You are not the reflection of those who can't love you."

11. "She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future." - Proverbs 31:25

12. "I wish we could see ourselves with God's eyes. Flawed, but still worthy of loving." - Anne n.

13. "You are more than the choices you've made, You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade." - You Are More by Tenth Avenue North

Life Lessons

I recently had been given a piece of paper with Regina Brett's 45 Life Lessons on it and I literally put a star and underlined so many of them. I sent it to some of my friends hoping it would help them out as much as it has helped me. Apparently it did and one of my friends asked me where I got it from and so therefore I decided to put the full list down below.

I hope you will read it because it really is worth the read and I think it is very important to learn from other people mistakes and remember how much in life we take for granted. Also I want to start appreciating every little thing in my life more because one day I know I will miss it.

I wanted to mention the ones that stood out to me the most...6,16,34,39,41,44, and 48. I truly do think though that all of them are really good points and I am so thankful I was given this. I would definitely recommend printing it out and hanging on your wall or somewhere you can see this and be reminded of it.
